Naked Communications Australia has been awarded the Cannes Chimera for its Act button. It is one of only eight agencies globally to get the award.
The Act button was a mechanic to turn tragic news stories into positive outcomes. It featured on the bottom of online news content around poverty and allowed readers to share links and content about organisations, campaigns and movements working towards changing the outcomes of the store.
The Cannes Chimera Initiative is part of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Naked Communications Australia CEO, Carl Ratcliff said: “We are incredibly honoured to have been awarded a Cannes Chimera, and to have the opportunity to make a real difference to a global issue with our creative thinking. We thank the Jury and look forward to developing this idea further with some of the best creative minds in the world.”
Naked won out over 900 global entries.
The eight winners go on to take part in a mentoring workshop to take the ideas to a new level and is invited to pitch for US$1m of funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
