Wunderman national executive creative director Matt Batten has relocated to the UK to take on the role of group chief creative officer for the agency network's operations in Britain.
Batten started at the new role today and joined a month after new chief executive Mel Cruikshank took the reins of the agency. He will oversee the creative output for Wunderman London, Blast Radius, Burrows and KBM Group. Wunderman London executive creative director David Harris will report to Batten.
Batten has been heading the creative department of Wunderman since 2008, initially as creative director of the Sydney office before being promoted to executive creative director of the national operations. With managing director Jo Lloyd, Batten has seen the resurgence of Wunderman from a struggling agency to one which now numbers over 100 staff.
Batten has also worked at Saatchi & Saatchi and BMF.
Cruikshank said: “Matt has earned a global reputation for being an uncompromising champion for great creativity. His experience, knowledge of digital creativity and never-ending drive will help make our creative reputation stronger than ever.”
Wunderman global chairman and chief executive Daniel Morel said: “Matt brings to his new clients in London a global perspective and fresh ideas that they require to do business successfully. Matt knows that creativity is business-critical across the spectrum and he'll demonstrate it to our clients and colleagues alike.”
Lloyd and Wunderman Australia could not be reached at the time of publication about Batten's replacement locally.
