You can't say Lynx doesn't know its consumers. Lynx men like their lusty ladies but if they're not about then you can be damn sure the chance to be an astronaut (really!) and drive a space buggy is.
Lynx is giving 22 people around the world the chance to go into space - suborbital space but still space - aboard the commercial Lynx SXC Space Shuttle. Four lucky and daring Australians, and an inanimate carbon rod, will get to go to the Lynx Space Academy in Florida to compete for a seat aboard the shuttle.
And you don't have to have a spare $20 million lying around - the basic rate for this kind of thing - you only have to shell out $3.99 for some roll-on deodorant to enter and BE AN ASTRONAUT.
Soap Creative has developed a multi-platform campaign to support the Australian competition including a real-life, fully functional Lynx Lunar Racer which can go from 0 to 100km in 6.5 seconds. Whoa. It's currently touring the country and it's equipped with a WiFi hotspot so people can download the mobile game Soap has created to give budding space explorers a taste of lunar racing.
The game tests players on their moon buggy driving skills with four different vehicles in nine space zones. It's available on desktop, iOS and Android platforms and it's climbing through the App Store chart. And, it's free.
Soap Creative executive creative director Brad Eldridge said: “Combining space with souped-up cars gives us the opportunity to engage the Lynx audience with lots of awesome, bite-sized, gaming and video content, across all the key platforms.
