Former News Australia chief commercial officer Tony Prentice has been appointed as interim chief executive of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) following the exit of Paul Fisher.
Fisher resigned at the end of last year to join Nielsen as managing director of its media business. He is now in his gardening leave period.
Prentice, who was previously chairman of IAB until July 2012, will take on the interim chief executive role in a part time capacity and will not be a candidate for the permanent chief executive role. Instead, he will focus on his advisory business, Prentice and Partners.
The IAB has already commenced its search for a permanent replacement for Fisher and hopes to wrap up the process later this quarter.
IAB chairman Mark Britt said: “His previous experience as chairman of IAB Australia means that he will be able to assist with the ongoing process around audience measurement and assist with the successful on-boarding of the new chief executive once the search has been concluded.”
Britt added Prentice's presence will ensure there is no break in the IAB's agenda and its existing projects.
