Paul Fishlock is seeking almost half a million dollars from his former employer The Campaign Palace.

EXCLUSIVE: Former The Campaign Palace executive creative director Paul Fishlock will seek around half a million dollars from Y&R when his lawsuit is heard in the NSW Supreme Court next month.

In the most recent statement of claims seen by AdNews, Fishlock seeks $477,848 from Y&R. The total amount includes $337,000 in damages made of up $262,500 in loss of entitlements, a loss of opportunity to earn a bonus of $52,500 for the year ending December 2011, loss of provision of payment of insurance premiums of $2,000, and $20,000 for pain, suffering and damage to reputation.

In addition, Fishlock will ask for $87,500 equating to 13 weeks of redundancy pay and $41,569.24 for six weeks of pro-rata long service leave. He is also seeking $11,848.09 for overtime worked.

Fishlock also seeks interest on the total, which would likely take the claim above half a million dollars. He is also seeking legal costs.

AdNews understands a claim for a bonus payment of $60,000 for the year ending December 2010 in the documents has been paid.

Fishlock was the chairman and executive creative director of the now-defunct The Campaign Palace when he was replaced by Reed Collins who was hired as national chief creative officer in January 2011. He learned of Collins' appointment via an announcement in the trade press.

He launched legal action against his former employers shortly after. Fishlock's case claims that The Campaign Palace repudiated his employment agreement by Collins' appointment and failed to provide him with a termination of employment.

The Campaign Palace folded in June 2012.

Fishlock's case will proceed to a four-day trial in the NSW Supreme Court from 18 February until 21 February. He is being represented by John Biggs and Peter Boctor of Watson Mangioni Lawyers.
