EXCLUSIVE: In a further blow to The Campaign Palace following the exit of Sydney managing director Michele Teague, Pacific Brands is reviewing the iconic Bonds creative account.
The Campaign Palace will be defending the long-held account against Pacific Brands' roster agencies Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and The Monkeys. AdNews understands the presentations are being held next week.
Pacific Brands held a review of its creative and media agency arrangements last year across all of its brands and appointed in addition to The Campaign Palace, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and The Monkeys, AJF Partnership, Holler, Naked, MediaCom, CHE and Reactive. Happy Soldiers was previously on the Pacific Brands roster before its closure in April.
The review is a blow to The Campaign Palace, which counts Bonds as one of its remaining high-profile clients. The Y&R Brands agency was dumped by Westpac last year as its lead creative agency and earlier this year lost the Domino's account to BMF following a pitch.
Two weeks ago, Sydney managing Michele Teague departed the agency after less than a year in the role, with chairman and chief executive Mark Mackay taking over operations in Sydney.
The agency is also in a Supreme Court legal battle with a former executive, who left back in Febuary.
The Campaign Palace recently launched a campaign for Bonds' "hipster undies" range featuring Australian actor Rachael Taylor. Former tennis champion Pat Rafter has also featured in past campaigns.
The agency's client roster also includes Panasonic, the Australian Government and Target.
Digital creative duties, held by Holler, is not involved in the review. Pacific Brands declined to comment.
