Audi embarks on digital review

EXCLUSIVE: Premium German car brand Audi has launched a pitch for its digital advertising account.

AdNews understands the review is underway and that a number of agencies have already been approached to participate in the pitch.

Audi currently works with DDB Group in Sydney through its direct arm, Rapp, although it's unclear if it's on a retained or on a project basis. DDB holds the overall Volkswagen account globally. Audi is owned by Volkswagen Group.

Rapp recently developed a campaign for the launch of the Audi A1 Sportback model, which featured category sponsorship of music streaming service Spotify. It ran across TV, print and digital platforms.

Lavender has also worked on a digital project for Audi.

Audi's marketing boss, Janet Markus, joined the car brand at the end of 2010 from Audi's head office in Germany. She replaced Immo Buschmann.

Volkswagen Group owns auto brands including Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda (whose agency is The Works) and luxury brands Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Ducati.
