AdShel chief executive Steve McCarthy will step down from his role in October, after eleven years in the top job.

It is unclear what his next move will be, or whether he is leaving for another position. The company is currently searching for a replacement.

McCarthy said: “In my 11 years in the business, it has been my pleasure to work with a great group of people, have some wonderful business success, help develop the industry and have heaps of laughs along the way.”

APN News & Media group radio and outdoor chief executive and AdShel joint venture owner, Richard Herring, said: “Steve’s excellent leadership has delivered consistent growth and financial success for many years. He leaves the company well positioned to make the most of the opportunities ahead.”

AdShel is a 50/50 joint venture between APN News & Media and Clear Channel.
