Little girls will soon be pestering for more than a new Barbie doll, as the brandÕs fashion label moves into couture with the Barbie Designer Collection Ñ acreated by designers Alannah Hill, Joe Saba, Charlie Brown and Claire Dickson Smith of Third Millennium.The doll collection will be auctioned online to raise funds for Very Special Kids, an organisation that cares for families who have a child with a life-threatening illness. The auction, at Vsk.org.au, will be held on 25 March when the range is showcased at Barbie Kids on Parade at the Melbourne Fashion Festival, alongside the Barbie autumn/ winter range.While the Barbie Designer Collection will not be stocked by retail outlets, the Barbie autumn/winter range will be available nationally at Myer/Grace Bros, Target and Kmart stores.
