Amart marketer heads to Media Merchants

BRISBANE: Full service agency Media Merchants has appointed Simon Geeves, former general manager of marketing for Amart All Sports, as its new retail business consultant.

Geeves was formerly the general manager of marketing for Amart All Sports, but left the sport and leisure retailer last week after 24 years with the company.

Geeves was heavily involved in the strategic planning and acquisitions of Rowe and Jarman, as well as the formation of the Ascendia Group (which includes Amart All Sports and Rebel Sport), where he sat on the board.

In his new role Geeves will work with Media Merchants' client list, that includes more than 2,500 retail stores, and will help with marketing, store site identification, design, fit-out and merchandising.

Amart is speaking with a number of potential replacements for Geeves, but has yet to make any final decisions.
