SYDNEY: National Geographic Channel has promoted Julie Jensen to marketing & ad sales director for National Geographic Channel and Adventure One in Australia and New Zealand.

Jensen has held the position of director of marketing for the Washington-based National Geographic Channels International since 2003. Jensen will fill the shoes of Jacinta Spurrett, who in August last year rose to the position of managing director of National Geographic Channel. Jensen has more than 10 years’ experience in marketing, which includes creating tools and strategies to promote the National Geographic brand and its programming across a network of 150 countries and 27 languages.

National Geographic Channel MD Jacinta Spurrett said Jensen was an ideal candidate for the position. "Her established relationship with the Australian marketing team, invaluable knowledge of the channel and other divisions of the National Geographic Society will further strengthen our position as category leader in documentary television," said Spurrett.
