TripAdvisor launches make your own ad contest

The month of August is already turning into the month of the user-generated ad contest, first with Supercheap Auto currently running its own ad competition and now TripAdvisor pushing the launch of its own TV ad contest.

The global travel site wants anyone from video amateurs to filmmakers to submit their own take on the site's current “Don’t Just Visit” campaign.

The winning ad will be shown in the US, France and Australia, with residents from any of those countries eligible to enter.

Up for grabs is a grand prize of $25,000 USD (approximately $26,900 AUD) and the five runners up will receive $1,000 USD with the winning videos shared on TripAdvisor social media channels.

The grand prize and five runner-ups will be announced mid-September.
