Free ads for local firms on Rosso's radio show

Tim Ross will broadcast a short free plug for local businesses on Friday afternoons during his show on Mix106.5

Mix106.5 radio presenter Tim Ross will create a free 30-second ad for a small business each Friday as part of an irreverent initiative to boost the local economy. And get more Facebook followers and local businesses details.

'Free Ad Friday' sees Rosso create and broadcast an announcement or jingle for the chosen businesses.

Local firms must submit their details on the show's Facebook page for a chance to be picked. Maternity retailers to gluten-free bakeries have already signed up, claimed the company.

The push will air during the network's 'Rosso on Mix' drive show from 4 - 7pm each Friday, broadcast across Sydney and Melbourne. Mix106.5 is owned by The Australian Radio Network (ARN).

Ironically, the press release also featured details of Ross' forthcoming comedy show, 'Man About The House'. Everybody loves a free ad, it seems.
